One and a half months into twenty fifteen looks likes this…

We are now 1.5 months into twenty fifteen and so far, it’s been fairly productive.  I am not a person that makes big resolutions.  I feel like they set you up for failure.  Yes, I get it,  the new year is a time to refresh, start new and all that, but there is so much pressure put on us to make and stick to these resolutions.  If we do not keep up with them, we see it as a failure, and well, I don’t like that word.

What I choose to do instead is have mini goals for each month.  Very attainable and manageable goals for myself both professionally and personally.  I like this better because I find it’s less pressure that I put on myself and they are more easily attainable.  The month of January I wanted to start reading a new book, organize one of the closets in our house where I just put all the stuff I have no where else to put (don’t we all have these closets) and, because I am running my first 15 km race on March 29th, I wanted to start training for that too.

How did I do???

Closet overhaul happened, it took an entire day but I managed to clean it out, donate 2 large bags of clothes to a local shelter and also a large basket of blankets (that I used to use for baby posing) to our community animal shelter.  Man, it feels so good to pay it forward!  I hope they have kept the animals nice and cozy over the last few cold weeks we’ve had here.

I bought this book.  Have you read it?  It’s so awesome, I really love it!  It is a great idea and it has sparked a little something inside me to start my own happiness project, so keep your eye on my instragram account for that!

 

As for the running well….I am behind, but I have started and I am trying my best to stay on track!  I mean, it will only benefit me in the end.  I want to finish my run well and feel good after it’s complete.

My personal goals for February

1. Game nights at home

2. Remove visual clutter (thank you #happinessproject) from rooms in our home  – life is much more calm when it’s not all cluttered up

3. Try something new Thursdays – we are trying new recipes on Thursday’s in our house and I will be sure to share our favourites here.

I like your small attainable goals because really how can we truly accomplish unattainable goals and still be able to have time for the small happy moments of life. Thanks for the great reminder.   • Looks like a great book! It’s funny, our goals are all house projects. Basically, we do NOTHING all winter and then every spring, I feel like I need to do it all. I need to make a list like you ;)
