As a photographer, I feel lucky and blessed to be able to do what I love. I am invited into people’s lives to document special moments. Whether it’s parents gazing into their newborn’s eyes, a baby learning to crawl, a toddler smashing his first birthday cake or a couple celebrating on their wedding day. It doesn’t matter, I love them all.
It is also important to me to be able to reach out and give back to people in need within (and around) my own community. This is one of the main reasons I joined Smiling Eyes. I wanted to be able to help families forget what illness is doing or has done to their families. I wanted to be able to provide an hour or two of fun, getting some laughs in and forgetting, if only for awhile, that there is illness at all.
I recently met with Idan and his parents at their home. This little guy instantly stole my heart with his big smile and those sweet bright eyes. We headed to their local park – a favourite spot – to have some fun and take some pictures. Like every little boy I know, he loves his trucks, cars, the swings and making his parents laugh.
Another great thing about our session is that this awesome family is expecting their second child (who is due any day now) so of course we got a few belly shots.
Idan has recently diagnosed with a rare blood disorder called HLH. He needs a bone marrow transplant ASAP and is currently awaiting a donor. Please, if you are not already a donor, get on the list. I am !!!!
I enjoyed my time with this family so much. It makes my heart happy.
If you or anyone you know would benefit from a session with a Smiling Eyes photographer (located across Canada and now into the USA) please get in touch with our team. We are more than happy to help put a smile on your face.
